‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Damon and Stefan get a surprise

The latest sneak peek has arrived for Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” and there is one thing that we can take from it without even watching it more than once: that tension between Damon and Stefan is not really going to be going away anytime soon. As a matter of fact, they may have some more reasons to go toe to toe now more than ever.

What do we mean specifically? Let’s just say that much to the chagrin of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s characters, Connor the vampire hunter is very much still alive after their attempt to blow him up. To makes matters even more interesting, Stefan has a really interesting reaction to hearing the words “The Five” … almost like he knows what Damon is talking about even if he doesn’t want to mention it out loud. (Then again, this could just be a reaction based out of confusion.)

Those of you who love playful Salvatore banter will also love this scene, mostly because Damon almost doesn’t want to tell him anything that is going on due to the fact that they are supposedly in some sort of fight over Damon allowing Elena to feed on him. We’re sure that this doesn’t make Stefan pleased, but neither will the news that Damon is taking her to college in order to teach her how to feed a little bit better. As for why Stefan isn’t taking the initiative more, it’s solely because he is afraid that he will not be able to control himself around human blood.
