‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Michael Trevino talks Phoebe Tonkin addition

There was a new face on Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” and it is someone that you could end up seeing quite a bit of moving forward on the season: Hayley, a werewolf played by Phoebe Tonkin that Tyler Lockwood first ran into during some of his travels last year. We don’t necessarily know a ton about this character just yet, except that she could play some sort of a role in the action moving forward this season as we start to understand more why she is in Mystic Falls, and what sort of role she will play in Tyler’s life. (Don’t be so quick to assume that it will be romantic.)

One person who certainly is rather thrilled to have Tonkin be a part of the show is Michael Trevino, who tells Zap2It in a new interview that from the moment that the actress jumped over from “The Secret Circle” after its cancellation  he was rather happy to have her here:

“I know ‘Secret Circle’ was canceled and I know a lot of our fans were a fan of that show and a lot of people felt that maybe that ended prematurely, so it’s great to have her on set … I’ve met her before, which is kind of nice, so it’s good to be familiar with somebody. A lot of my scenes are with her and she’s been great so far. These Aussies have it down. Claire Holt is just so prepared, and Phoebe’s the same way. They can just run with it and do it and fit right in.”

What do you think that Tonkin is going to bring to the show in the long-term?
