Criminal Minds’ Paget Brewster joins Mom for guest spot
Following her time filming Criminal Minds, Paget Brewster is diving back into the comedy world this fall. After all, she’s signed up to appear on Mom season 7!
In a new post on Twitter, Brewster herself confirmed that she is going to be appearing on the Anna Faris comedy, and she went so far as to refer to all of her co-stars as “welcoming, hilarious, and kind.” That’s how we’d love to imagine all of them, given that we’re talking about great performers led by Anna Faris and Allison Janney.
So who will Paget be playing? According to a new report via TVLine, you’re going to see the actress stopping by in at least two episodes as Veronica Stone, Christy’s new boss at the law firm. Per the character description, she is “a most demanding senior partner with high expectations and a lot of energy — which she channels into yelling at poor Christy.” Just from hearing that description alone, it’s easy to feel optimistic that there’s a lot of fun stuff coming up!
Paget is no stranger to comedy; she appeared on Friends many years back before eventually also stopping by Another Period and then a run on Community as Frankie Dart. Sitcoms are a particularly fun gig since you get an opportunity to feed off of energy in a way that you rarely do when it comes to any other job. What’s also fun about this gig for now is that it feels reasonably open-ended — we imagine that there could be a lot of appearances coming, depending on what happens within the story.
Unfortunately, you’re still going to have to wait a while in order to see Brewster back as Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds — the CBS show is not scheduled to be back on the air until midseason. Yet, when it’s back we’re sure that we’ll get a chance to see the individual endgames play out for a lot characters over time — along with a battle against some of the most infamous UnSubs that we’ve had a chance to see. This is a show that loves to combine crime drama with action and heartfelt personal moments … and we’re sure all of that will come before the final curtain drops.
