Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 10: Let’s go to the mall!
Take, for starters, getting a chance to see more of how the video at the gas station is having an impact. If you look below, you can see the opening minutes of Sunday night’s episode — it’s a message from someone named Chuck. He relates a message to the group telling them that he wants nothing more than to be killed — but he also has some information to pass along in the form of a mall. It’s where they can go and find all sorts of resources that could be used to help other people. Think along the lines of a bookstore, a food court, and a whole lot more.
Eventually, the show shifts to the characters we know and we get to see Morgan, Dwight, and also Grace getting a chance to do a little bit of scouting. They find some food, some more resources, and just about everything else that they could want. The issue is trying to find their new “friend” in walker form, as apparently he did turn before wandering away. Finding Chuck and putting his zombified form to rest is going to be a part of their mission, but in general, our excitement for this episode comes mostly out of one thing — getting a chance to see the mall itself.

Let’s face it — any old-school zombie fan has fond memories of watching heroes beat up zombies in a mall. It’s been a movie staple, and it also serves as a basic setting for Dead Rising, one of the most popular video games of its era. Putting Fear the Walking Dead in this environment, even for a short period of time, is a great way to pay homage to that — and to hopefully present some cool storylines to go along with it.
