‘Shark Tank’ preview: Brandon Jacobs endorses PRO-NRG

There has been a rather specific theme to several pitches on “Shark Tank” this year, and that has been the presence of celebrities who have stopped by in some shape or form in order to help endorse a product that they may either have some stake or a major belief in. The latest example of this? Former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs showing up to help promote a product that combines the energy found in a Red Bull with the wellness in a protein shake.

The product name is PRO-NRG, and on paper this does sound like something that is absolutely perfect for this show. After all, who wouldn’t want to test out a product that gives you energy while at the same time increasing your performance? There’s no caffeine or sugar, which is probably why someone like Jacbos has decided to lend a helping hand with the company.

However, the preview clip below makes it pretty clear from the get-go that there is a major problem here with the product: it just doesn’t taste very good. As a matter of fact, it looks as though Robert Herjavec wants to spit his out all over the floor. We know that many of these sharks love being in the health business, but it has to be with a product that they think consumers will want to go out and buy. We’re not entirely sure that this is the sort of endorsement they want when being on TV, and not all publicity is good publicity. Then again, this is also only one of what is likely several opinions, and some of the other sharks may have loved it.

On the surface, do you think that PRO-NRG has a smart idea when it comes to both their product and using Jacobs as a spokesperson?
