‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 3 spoilers: George Takei signs on!

Who knew that “Star Trek” and “Hawaii Five-0” would ever cross paths? These two shows have several decades of TV history in their past, and now, they are about to cross paths for a notable guest-starring gig courtesy of one George Takei.

In a new post on Twitter, CBS confirmed that the legendary actor (who also worked with Masi Oka on “Heroes”) is going to be making an appearance on the show for at least one episode this season, where he will be playing the uncle of Daniel Dae Kim’s character of Chin Ho Kelly; not only that, but he will also have some sort of contribution to the case that is going to be investigated during this episode. (Bonus points if he gets to say anything even remotely related to science fiction.)

We are overall rather excited to see Takei take on this challenge here, especially since it is only the latest casting for him this year. We also learned recently that the actor is going to be stopping by the new NBC comedy “The New Normal” alongside Nicole Richie, even though it is not entirely clear at this given moment just who he is going to be playing here. “Hawaii Five-0” is still a success for CBS, but it is hard to ignore that “Revolution” has taken a major bite out of the show when it comes to its once-dominant figures in the 18-49 demographic at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.

What do you think about Takei’s casting, and have you enjoyed this season so far? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts with a comment below!
