‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Who is the ‘Queen of Hearts’?

On Sunday night’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time,” you are going to meet a much-anticipated character in Captain Hook; rather than just focusing on that, though, for this article, we’re going to take a little bit of a leap forward to some exciting stuff coming up much further down the road.

In a new post on his Twitter account, executive producer Adam Hororwitz posted a brief message sharing the titles for both the eighth and ninth episodes of this season; and they certainly do yield themselves to plenty of discussion (especially the first one, for those of you who really like to speculate over rumors.)

Episode 8, “Into the Deep” – Could this (gasp!) be the long-hoped-for “Little Mermaid” episode? We’re getting ahead of ourselves here, but the name certainly does suggest something involving the ocean. Then again, this could also be an episode revolving around Captain Hook or any of his crew members, since he is someone who the show has already handed a series regular promotion to.

Episode 9, “Queen of Hearts” – This one seems to us to be a little bit more obvious, since we already know that the Queen of Hearts exists in this world based on what we know already from the show. Could this queen be a character that we already know? We would hardly be stunned, especially since the show has already made a habit out of casting characters for multiple fairy tale “roles” (see Little Red / the Big Bad Wolf or Rumpelstiltskin / the Beast as two examples of this very thing).

Regardless of what happens in these episodes, the titles alone have us anxious for more. Are you hoping to meet some new characters here, or at least some exciting new roles for some we already know?
