‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Meet Locke and Steelshanks

We have writing as of late about some various cast sightings while “Game of Thrones” season 3 is filming in Dubrovnik; and now, we have the latest information to share about some casting based on what is happening in the Croatian city.

According to a new report via show site Winter is Coming, the following two characters are close to confirmed for appearing on the show during at least some of the King’s Landing scenes.

Locke – First things first, we have a new character who is going to play some sort of role in both Jamie Lannister and Brienne’s stories on this coming season. The site compares this role to Vargo Hoat from the George R.R. Martin novels without the lisp, and that he will be played on the show by actor Noah Taylor (most recently of “Hatfields & McCoys” along with “The Borgias”).

Steelshanks – Meanwhile, we are also set to see this character for the first time on the show this season, but we don’t have any casting information to share here just yet. There will also be interaction here with Jamie’s story, but this will be a relatively small role.

Filming for the show is set to continue taking place in Dubrovnik over the course of the next several weeks, and following that, the producers and the crew will take their work elsewhere to such countries as Morocco and Iceland to finish work on the rest of the episodes. Production for the new season really started to get underway in July; but even after many of these scenes are filmed, there is still a rigorous post-production period ahead where everything will be edited and ready to go for television.

Are there any characters that you want to see for sure on the coming season?
