The stakes are already raised for “2 Broke Girls” this season, and the season premiere has yet to even air. So why all of the pressure? Over the past 15 years, CBS has only aired new episodes of two comedies in their prestigious timeslot Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern: “Everybody Loves Raymond” to “Two and a Half Men.” Now, they are handing the show over to a funny take on poverty anchored by women in Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs who were hardly big names in television before the series began.
The good news here leading up to Monday’s premiere episode is that the show seems to understand the pressure that it is under, and looks to be adjusting what they plan on bringing to the table accordingly During this first episode, we are going to see an attempt by Caroline to get her to try and get Max to meet her much-discussed father in prison, and it is not going to go over well. Why? We’re not even sure if Max is going to allow herself to even be put in a situation where she can meet him.
Luckily, we also know that there is plenty more craziness coming up this season to go along with what we already mentioned. We are going to meet a new potential love interest for Caroline in some upcoming episodes, and they will once again try to take their cupcake business to the next level … which in their heads would probably be “level 2.” Let’s hope for plenty of laughs here, and that this new lineup Monday works well against the beasts known as “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Voice.”
