In just under a week, “Law & Order: SVU” is going to be back with all-new episodes; but before we get to that, we wanted to share a little bit of what series star Mariska Hargitay is doing to give back to victims of domestic violence and child abuse.
The award-winning actress has decided to take part in the Do the KIND Thing initiative as a part of the organization that she founded herself in the Joyful Heart Foundation. So what can you do in order to give back? Really, it’s pretty simple: you just have to visit KINDmovement.com and pledge to complete some sort of act of kindness to a caregiver a parent, whether it be through something as simply as asking how they are doing or helping through preparing a meal or supporting them in some other capacity.
If enough people visit the website above and make a pledge to go through with this act by October 2 (less than two weeks away!), Mariska, along with many other friends and supporters of her foundation, will bring packages and healing kits to hundreds of children at The Manhattan Child Advocacy Center. It’s a great cause, and definitely one worth supporting.
In going back to what is actually happening on “SVU” this season, a new report from TVLine confirms that Hargitay will have the company of three guest stars for its upcoming 300th episode: Tom Sizemore, Hamash Linklater, and Alex Karpovsky. Linklater will play a man from a successful real estate company whose son goes missing, while Sizemore (fresh off a stint on “Hawaii Five-0”) will be a man employed by his family. Finally, Karpovky is set to be an artillery police officer.
