Bull season 2 spoilers: The Good Wife alum Archie Panjabi to guest star

If you are looking for some Bull season 2 – Archie Panjabi casting news, rest assured you are in the right place!

As first confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, the former The Good Wife star (who recently appeared on Blindspot season 2 in the role of Nas) will return to CBS for a November episode of the Michael Weatherly series. Her role is Arti Canter, described as a “a brilliant and resourceful British trial scientist with no shortage of charm.” The show’s official logline offers up more in the way of insight:

“Bull [Michael Weatherly] meets his match in the Oxford-educated Cander, a successful former D.C. lobbyist who’s more than a worthy adversary for him. She knows how to read a jury as well as he does, and is ready to prove to everyone that Bull isn’t the only trial scientist in town.”

Basically, Arti Canter is precisely the sort of character Bull needs in order to get to the next level, someone who is hyper-intelligent and a more than capable rival for Weatherly’s character. She will be smart enough to take him on in the courtroom and to cause him some serious headaches outside of it as he tries to figure her out. As much as we do love the Jason character, it’s a little boring to have him coast through an entire season without facing any significant challenges along the way. One of the biggest issues that seemed to exist for the first season was that Bull had too many victories and not enough setbacks, whether it be in his personal or professional life.

Luckily, the producers over at Bull are starting to assemble a rather powerful group of occasional adversaries / sometimes-allies, whether it be Panjabi’s Canter, J.P. Nunnelly (Eliza Dushku), or Diana Lindsay (Jill Flint). We figure that even more will be cast for the second season before too long. We know that Panjabi excels at playing these sort of tough, intimidating roles, and she will be a perfect fit for the show. (Also, go check her out in The Fall — she’s tremendous on there, as is Gillian Anderson, Jamie Dornan, and the remainder of the cast.) We’ve already thrown it out in the universe that we’d love to see Weatherly’s former NCIS co-star Cote de Pablo in a similar role, but producers haven’t commented on whether or not this could actually happen.

Bull season 2 premieres on CBS in just a few days, and we at CarterMatt do want to help prepare you for every facet of the show’s big return.
