The X-Files season 11: Gillian Anderson confirms Brian Huskey casting

Brian Huskey

The X-Files season 11 is going to be premiering on Fox in 2018, and we now know that Brian Huskey will officially be a part of it!

In a new post on her official Twitter account, Gillian Anderson herself confirmed that Huskey, known for his work on Another Period and People of Earth, and Veep as the ever-fantastic Leon West, will be making an appearance at some point on the upcoming season. Given that Veep is a favorite here at CarterMatt and also a recent Emmy winner, getting any actor for your own practice is something that you have to celebrate.

As for the sort of role we’re going to see Huskey play, or some of the other finer details about this role, that’s still something we will have to wait in order to properly figure out. The X-Files is a show that does love to have a ton of secrecy around it in every direction, but to be honest, would you really have it any other way? We’re not altogether sure that we would for a number of different reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that one of the things that The X-Files does best is give you a wide array of mystery week in and week out. Part of the fun that comes with being a part of this show is that you get a chance to see things that you don’t see coming, whether it be guest roles or odd supernatural occurrences. There’s a lot to like about the standalone episodes, since there’s nothing that can be known about them in advance.

Remember now that The X-Files season 11 is still many months away from filming, so with that in theory, it’s still very well possible that there could be some other guest roles announced. At the moment, the one thing that we do know is that Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell are going to be reprising their roles, and it’s also possible that we’re going to have a chance to see Mulder and Scully’s now-older son on the show. If you remember the end of the tenth season of the show, it seems fairly clear that they are going to be an enormous part of this upcoming story. Without them, the lives of our favorite characters may never be anywhere near as complete as they really should be.

The one thing we are confident about? That Huskey’s episode and the show itself will prove to be huge ratings boosts to Fox at a time when they could use the extra attention. After all, remember that the show generated big ratings the last time it was on a year and a half ago.
