Supernatural season 13 spoilers: Is Jeffrey Vincent Parise Hell’s new leader?
Earlier this week, the CW put out the latest season 13 trailer for the show, and it features Sam and Dean Winchester continuing to struggle once more in the midst of a complicated world around then. With Castiel gone, they’ve lost a sense of friendship and a key alley; however, that’s not the only major change. Following Crowley’s death Hell has a new leader, and it appears to be Parise’s mysterious character. He proclaims that he’s the new Sheriff in town, and that is an awesome line. However, there is no word as of yet as to what sort of character he will be.
Is there some significance to the fact that Parise’s character is wearing all white? We have to think that it’s possible we are looking at someone here who is an angel, or at least an angel in disguise. It’s an intriguing possibility, just as it is that we’re going to be seeing the character try to become an enforcer of whatever particular ideals that they believe in.
Obviously, we’re excited for the General Hospital alum to be on the show — the Supernatural family a.k.a. the #SPNFamily is one of the most supportive fandoms out there! We just hope that the writers come up with some cool stuff for him, given that trying to live in the shadow of Crowley (Mark Sheppard) is not the easiest place in the world to be. He’s gone, but his memory will live on in many different ways. Anyone who reads CarterMatt regularly knows that we love that character, but there are no plans for him to return in the near future. We’ll see what happens with this new character — it’s obviously intended to be a big shakeup for the show, and that’s something that the writers want at this point in the show’s run. There is an awareness here that you cannot just keep doing the same thing over and over again — and that includes replacing Crowley with someone who is just like him.
One other mystery
Where is Castiel, and what is he going to be like? Misha Collins isn’t really a presence in the promo, but we know that he is going to be back in some capacity. The big challenge here for the writers is going to be just trying to figure out precisely what that capacity is and also how to make it different from the iterations of the character that we’ve seen before. They need to figure out some unique ways to have him stand out.
