NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 spoilers: Bar Paly will return; Hetty news!

Let’s begin this NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 CarterMatt update with some great Bar Paly news: You’re not done seeing her on the show!

We weren’t sure for most of the summer whether or not Anna would be coming back, mostly because there were new characters entering the mix and sometimes with changes, you don’t know where everything is going to land. Luckily, you’ll be seeing the character again before too long … albeit in a slightly different way. Speaking per TVLine in a new interview, executive producer R. Scott Gemmill confirmed that you will see Anna working for the ATF the next time you see her. Luckily, the ATF does collaborate with some other organizations here and there, so there could be opportunities for her to stop by on a recurring basis and be useful to the team. Obviously, we know that there are plenty of people out there who do want to see her share some more scenes with Callen, as well…

As for some other important news beyond Bar Paly, don’t you want to know a little bit more about Hetty? CarterMatt certainly does! The character is going to be MIA at the start of the season, which is one of the reasons why you’re going to be seeing Nia Long’s character of Shay Mosley enter the mix. She is a character who will look after the field office, and in turn, we imagine that there’s going to be plenty of chaos around her at just about every turn. After all, fans probably aren’t going to be all that happy with some of her attempts to extract Deeks from the team, feeling as though he’s better suited back at the LAPD (and that’s just putting it mildly).

For everyone out there who is curious about whether or not we’re going to learn more about what is happening with Hetty, the answer there is yes! Gemmill tells the publication that one of the goals is to ensure that we’re clued in as viewers, even if the folks within the team aren’t privy to as much information as we are. Rest assured that one way or another, Hetty is still going to be a key part of the overall story. It’s just not going to be easy for the team to move forward thinking that she is gone, given that she is the heart and soul of the entire team and was such a beacon of wisdom and advice for so many of them much of the time.
