Outlander season 3: A New York event and more Caitriona Balfe videos
Below, you can see two separate videos that come courtesy of the huge premiere event that took place in New York City last night. First, Balfe spent a bit of time discussing some various season 3 plot points to Access Hollywood, and we have to give them some credit for really covering a good bit of ground on some of the time periods that are frequently covered on the show. Yes, they do also touch on sex (a question that does seem to come up almost as often as the ones about what’s up Jamie Fraser’s kilt), but Caitriona gives a pretty good answer to the question. Personally, we imagine that tackling those sort of questions with relative strangers on red carpet has to be rather difficult, but she does it with such ease.
We love this second video a lot, as it focuses on the exclusive Q&A that was held after the season 3 screening via Entertainment Weekly. In this video, Balfe and Sam are asked about their perception of reading the books as actors playing the characters on the show. What do they think about the two of them, and who do they picture? It’s a fun little meta moment and something that we hadn’t even thought much about ourselves as someone who has probably written a total of 200 Outlander articles since the start of the year.
We imagine that there will be many more Outlander and Caitriona Balfe videos to share between now and the premiere Sunday; there are probably many more from the premiere event that aren’t even online just yet.
Another celebration of the show
For those of you in New York City, Friday is going to be a chance to celebrate the show at The High Line courtesy of some various activities! You’ll get a chance to see a replica Print Shop, a photo booth, and a few other things that are fairly similar to what was at the show’s event in Los Angeles earlier this week. If you want to meet up with some like-minded fans, this is going to be another great opportunity to do just that before the show’s premiere. We really like that Outlander went all out in their promotion of the show this year, including finding some unique ways to get the fans involved with these interactive displays. While we do still think it would be rather lovely if they were able to include some more events at other places beyond New York and Los Angeles, this is standard operating procedure for the most part given that they are the two largest markets.
