Comic-Con 2012: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ stars arrive for season 4 chat

There are a number of major panel discussions going on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, but few are going to have the same sort of buildup as the one for “The Vampire Diaries.” The show has become a favorite of the convention over the years, and its production company in Warner Bros. is even promoting it with a line of bags that are being carried around the assembly floor.

The sad part about the show’s panel is that the cast really doesn’t get much time to enjoy anything. Since they are currently taping the fourth season of the show in Atlanta, they arrive to San Diego, take part in some interviews, and then end up leaving rather quickly to go right back to work. However, the image on Paul Wesley’s Twitter account (which you can see to the left) at least confirms that the gang is in the building, and we know that Ian Somerhalder is also wandering around somewhere.

As for what we hope to find out during the show’s panel, the expectation is that we are going to learn more about Elena’s transformation into a vampire — including how she is going to feel about it and whether or not the Salvatore brothers (played by Wesley and Somerhalder) are going to find a way to stop it. We also expect to hear Michael Trevino (pictured) talk about having Klaus trapped inside of his character’s body, and what this could end up doing at the end of the day in regards to what was starting to become a steady bond between him and Caroline.
