Ink Master exclusive: Allegory Arts talks elimination, frustration and working together

Allegory Arts

Allegory Arts was our last married couple to be eliminated from Ink Master season 9, and as a married couple who runs a business, we were disappointed to see them leave (gotta root for the married couples!) They made it far and with this season of Ink Master being all about team work, we suspected that the married couples would have the easiest time with this. It’s never been a secret that this competition is highly stressful, so what better way to combat that then having your life partner there to help guide you through the worst of it?

Unfortunately, we lost Allegory Arts this week, but remember that we are at a point in the competition where all of the remaining teams are strong, so good tattoos are going to go home. This elimination challenge was particularly difficult this time around, because of the area they were tattooing and some of the designs that the canvases wanted, but add to that the artist switch up and it’s enough to drive anyone bonkers. We had a chance to talk to Allegory Arts about their time on the show, whether or not being married was an advantage for them and if either of them would be interested in coming back to Ink Master for another shot at the title.

CarterMatt: How did you feel about being one of the last two original teams standing and was there extra pressure because of it?

Allegory Arts: Proud and tired. There seemed to be a large sense of pressure coming from the judges as well as the fellow competitors, like once they saw a tiny gap of error it was thrown into the spotlight and under a microscope, yet other teams didn’t seem to be getting the same amount of attention, at least at the very end.

Was there frustration on your part in going home in a challenge like this, especially since one of you won the head-to-head?

Yes, because Christian displayed just as many faults in his work, yet he was not being called out. I’m very proud of the work that Ulysses did during this challenge as well as throughout the entire competition.

You are married and are used to working together, did you find that was an advantage over other teams?

Absolutely.

Do either want of you want to come back and compete on your own?

Not unless we can be one of the judges. Maybe able to be persuaded…

How can people reach out about a tattoo appointment?
