Lethal Weapon season 2: Thomas Lennon returning; Adrian Pasdar to appear

Thomas Lennon

Great news for everyone out there who loved Thomas Lennon on Lethal Weapon: You’re going to be seeing more of Leo Getz!

Per TVLine and show executive producer Matt Miller, Lennon is going to appear on a few occasions during the second season as the ambulance-chasing attorney made famous from the feature film series. We spoke with Lennon about the part earlier this year, and at the time he said that there were no specific plans to come back; nonetheless, we’re glad to see that something materialized. Given the character’s impact on the films, it would’ve been strange to not see more of him in some shape or form.

Lennon’s schedule may also contribute to getting to see more of him: Remember that The Odd Couple was canceled this past season, and his series @midnight (which he executive-produced) ended on Comedy Central earlier this month. He’s going to get other major gigs, so you have to take advantage of whatever availability you have for him while you still can.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned site also reported some other exciting casting news for the upcoming season. Heroes alum Adrian Pasdar, whose credits also include Agents of SHIELD and an upcoming arc on Supergirl is going to be playing a “con artist grifter” in the fourth episode of the series. He will be someone who, per Miller, “ends up robbing these people in a private jet and winds up jumping out in a parachute” within the opening minutes of his installment. Sounds like a heck of a way to emerge on the show! Pasdar’s an exceptional actor, so we have no frustrations about seeing him on this show. It’s also nice to have him on board in a role that is not either a politician or some sort of military man, given that these are the roles that he’s been known for mostly over the years.

What else do you need to know?

Lethal Weapon season 2 is premiering on Fox this fall, and it will be in a different timeslot than it’s used to Tuesday nights. It’s exciting in a way that the network has this much faith in it, but they are also separating the show from Empire while throwing it up against NCIS. We’re curious to see how it fares, but there are some challenges ahead for it in this spot. The writers better find a way to stay creative and keep most of the fans that they have. We want to see the show make it to a season 3, after all! As always, the show’s fate is in the hands of the viewers out there.

We imagine that this won’t be the only Lethal Weapon news that we have between now and the premiere, so we recommend that you head over to the link here and stay tuned for more. (Photo: Fox.)
