Outlander season 3: David Berry behind the scenes, Australian premiere date, more
For the sake of this article, we thought we’d kick things off by sharing a couple of behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s official Instagram with a little bit of thoughtful analysis from us. The first one is all about David Berry as Lord John Grey, an actor we’re very much looking forward to getting to see on-screen. This character is beloved by fans of the books, and his development should prove intriguing.
This image shows that visually, Berry is more than capable of taking on this character, but beyond that, it also demonstrates how much it takes in order to make every single costume and character perfect. This is a show that strives for many things, but accuracy is at the top of the list. That’s why the production design and the costuming have been so lauded over the years!
One of our favorite pieces this summer on Lord John revolves around the nature of his friendship with Jamie Fraser, and the joy that we’re going to have watching that onscreen. You can check our take on that over at the link here.
Meanwhile, the second Outlander photo is a lovely reminder that while Sam Heughan and Tobias Menzies may be super-serious in their performances, there’s always room for a smile here and there. This photo gives you a sense both of the chaos of the Battle of Culloden, but also the need to occasionally step outside of that role in the midst of long, grueling productions and share a smile.
The Australian premiere date
For those looking for a little more information on when season 3 premieres in Australia, the tweet / Facebook link below has some of that information. We’re not going to pretend to be an expert on Australian broadcasters, but we’re glad that viewers there won’t have to wait too long following when it airs in America. Making the launch as global as possible is a super smart, so all the fans can enjoy talking about it together without anyone being left out of the loop.
