Outlander season 3 odds and ends: Cast updates, a birthday, and more
Lately, we’ve been using Sundays as almost an Outlander grab bag, where we take some of the stories from during the week and compile them in one piece. We use them as a way to give you some updates as to what the cast and crew are up to during their filming hiatus.
While the post-production team ensures that the entirety of season 3 is ready to air, the writers and pre-production team continue to work to ensure that season 4 gets off to a great start. The wheels will really start rolling in September, and it seems as though the main cast will begin filming again in early October. We’ll have more official details in due time, so consider all of this at the moment just some fun stuff to keep on your radar. We’ve gotten a few questions on possible locations, but for now Scotland is the only one we’ve 100% confirmed. In the event that changes or something is added, (which is certainly possible), we’ll let you know.
Now, a few brief cast updates: Sam Heughan has been working hard as of late on The Spy Who Dumped Me, while Caitriona Balfe is in the midst of a well-earned vacation before getting set to do a lengthy press tour for the third season. Sophie Skelton, meanwhile, confirmed not that long ago that she will be appearing at The Land Con later this year in Paris and you can read a little bit more about that over at the link here.

Sam’s collection is being timed out perfectly
This all worked out very well for Sam! He’s got new episodes of Outlander coming this fall, which also happens to be when the next Barbour collection arrives. If you’ve followed him for some time, then you are probably well aware that he is a brand ambassador and a pretty perfect spokesman. In between this, his movie, working on My Peak Challenge, and some of his charity ventures we’re pretty sure that he is one of the hardest-working men in the entertainment business right now.
Happy birthday, Romann Berrux!
The young man behind Wee Fergus is growing up before our eyes! Today marks his sixteenth birthday, and he’s received a flurry of lovely messages from Outlander cast members and crew alike. Fergus obviously has a huge role in the Outlander story, but we don’t want to say too much here for those of you who like to remain unspoiled.
