Crime Dynamic Duos: NCIS: Los Angeles (Kensi / Deeks) vs. Grantchester (Sidney / Geordie)

Crime TV fans, we’ve made it — today marks the final edition in the first round of our Crime Dynamic Duos Tournament, and we do think that we’ve saved some of the best character showdowns for last. We’ve got two pairs from very different shows that are even based in different countries! Yet, they do still have a few things in common: Strong, interesting partnerships that aren’t afraid to challenge each other. They also often have the same goals in the end.

Below, get a little bit more information about these two duos competing for the spot in the next round. We do think that both of them have what it takes.

Deeks and Kensi, NCIS: Los Angeles (#2 seed) – There’s a lot to love about these two, which is why “Densi” remains one of the most beloved couples on TV. However, we want to make it clear that this isn’t a competition to determine what is the best ‘ship on TV at the moment. Instead, it’s about finding the two characters who are the best crime-fighters. These two have that in spades. Even if Deeks technically works for a different department than his new fiancee, the two find a way to team up constantly and take down anyone in their way. Sometimes, they’re by the book, whereas on some other occasions they resort to undercover

Geordie and Sidney, Grantchester (#7 seed) – These two have a very different sort of relationship and they’re about as unconventional as they come as crime-fighters. In some ways, though, that is a big part of what makes them exciting. They use their minds in order to solve cases, and they have to go about things differently thanks to Sidney being a man of the cloth. It’s one of the most unique pairings out there, and it’s the love of the community and the desire for justice that help the two carry on. Now, we just have to hope for a fourth season to continue these stories — and to see if James Norton returns for it, to boot. (Nothing is altogether guaranteed there.)
