Tonight, America’s Got Talent gave you a wide array of fantastic performers, but in the end, only seven of them could advance and become some of the final contestants in the live shows. We saw tonight a wide array of extraordinary talent, whether it be singers, dancers, a crazy dog act, and a man who risked his life with the help of some chairs.
If we had to pick some of our favorite acts to move forward, we’d say (in addition to Golden Buzzer act Johnny Manuel) that Maxim Popazov, Kechi, Pompeyo Family Dogs, Merrick Hanna, Greater Works Choir, and Will Tsai should move forward. We were aware, based on the edit, that Henry Richardson would probably get the magician spot over Will, but we felt confident about virtually everyone else on the list. There’s variety in these performers, and also much of what the show loves. The only darkhorse in our mind were the dancing kids Artyon and Paige. They kicked things off on the show, and that typically means that you’ve got a pretty good chance of moving on to the next round.
Below, take a look at some of the performers who are moving forward.
In the Stairwell – They made it through! We admit that they’re not our personal favorite, but we appreciate their surface and do think that they’re a lot of fun. They’re memorable, and that could help them significantly.
Pompeyo Family Dogs – No surprise here, given that this is one of the craziest madcap dogs acts that we’ve ever seen. They bring SO much content in a short period of time.
Greater Works Choir – We thought for most of their performance that Seal would give them a Golden Buzzer — that didn’t happen, but they’re through to the next round regardless. They have a real shot based on their passion and everything that they bring to the table.
Merrick Hanna – HUZZAH. Our favorite dancer this season gets to go to the next round.
Artyon and Paige – Hey, we labeled them the darkhorses. We would’ve put them through, but America does love kid acts.
Kechi – Well, this was a no-brainer. Kechi is outstanding and she deserved this shot. She rounds out the live-show lineup, at least the ones that we know about right now. It’s possible that there are some changes or additions after the fact.
Surprisingly, the judges didn’t put through either one of the magicians tonight — they do have plenty others in the next round already. We were also bummed about no Maxim, given that he was SENSATIONAL tonight. What more do you want from him?
