Midnight, Texas episode 4 spoilers: Manfred versus a seductress

Midnight, Texas episode 4

Don’t you love it when episode titles for shows have a double meaning? It’s with that in mind that there is a good bit to like about Midnight, Texas episode 4. After all, the title is “Sexy Beast,” both a movie reference and also a pretty appropriate name for what’s coming based on how NBC is hyping it up.

The first impression that we have of this episode in advance is that poor Manfred just can’t catch a break. It’s hard to have a housewarming when you’re spending almost all of your time having to deal with various supernatural creatures. This time around, though, we’re seeing one that’s a little bit different than any of the others that he’s squared off against before. This time, it also seems like the story is a little more of a community affair after being more focused on individual characters in the past.

The synopsis below does a good job of offering up a further sliver of insight.

Midnight, Texas episode 4 synopsis – “Manfred’s (Francois Arnaud) ability to see the dead leads him to uncover an ancient supernatural who seduces and feeds on men. To protect their town’s supernatural anonymity, Manfred, with the help of Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley), Lem (Peter Mensah), Joe (Jason Lewis) and Creek (Sarah Ramos), venture out of the safety of Midnight to a roadside bar to stop the supernatural killer. Meanwhile, Bobo (Dylan Bruce) must confront the dangerous bikers who threaten to expose his past. While carrying out a hit, Olivia (Arielle Kebbel) discovers an unlikely link to her father.”

Want to see some of the latest ratings?

Well, consider this: The latest new episode of the show (episode 2, since we don’t have the ratings for 1×03 yet) generated in total a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That’s down slightly from the premiere, but when you think about it a 10% week-to-week drop, give or take, really isn’t all that bad when you compare it to some other drops that you see for some other shows that are out there.

In total viewers, meanwhile, the decline was even less — Midnight, Texas brought in here 3.29 million viewers. If the show keeps these totals, then it’s looking as though it could have a shot for a larger story down the line. That’s not bad, given that this is not a show that we were all that optimistic about going into it airing — that’s no slam at the series itself, but more NBC for putting it right smack in the middle of the summer.
