Crime Dynamic Duos: Lethal Weapon (Riggs / Murtaugh) vs. NCIS (McGee / Bishop)

Riggs / Murtaugh

In our second edition of our Crime Dynamic Duos series today, we’re looking at two shows in Lethal Weapon and NCIS that have quite a few similarities. Both are action-heavy shows that incorporate mysteries almost every week, and they also feature a number of unique partnerships and plenty of humor.

With all of that said, the two pairs that we’re featuring here are very much different from each other. Riggs and Murtaugh tend to be at the forefront of almost every case, while McGee and Bishop sometimes operate more in the background. Both serve as very important means to an end, but often each pair does something rather different to get there. (In the case of Lethal Weapon, it’s often explosive!)

Who moves on to the next round? That’s totally up to you! Check out the poll at the bottom of the article.

Voting Rules – You may vote however much you want within the specified voting window. (The image above explains everything in terms of start and stop dates.) Still with us? Let’s dive into this battle…

Riggs and Murtaugh, Lethal Weapon (#3 seed) – In some ways, you can describe them as the new kids on the block given that they’re coming off their first season. Yet, there is that source material from the movies! Luckily, Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford have done a wonderful job making these characters their own while keeping a part of what made the original duo so great: Commitment to each other, a good sense of humor, and a capacity to take on strong, dramatic moments. These two characters may not always agree, but they find ways to come together to get the job done. They’re stronger together than they are apart, and that’s the sort of thing that you ask for in any duo.

Now, we just gotta wait and see what season 2 holds…

McGee and Bishop, NCIS (#6 seed) – Even though they’re a part of a long-running show, this partnership is still relatively young in some aspects as well. Their partnership works very well from an analytical sense since the two share similar minds and have an effortless manner of communication. They’re not necessarily the muscle of the NCIS team, but they do still find a way to come up with unique solutions to problems and are constant assets to the team.

Oh, and they’re also at the center of many of the funniest scenes at the field office. We’re already starting to lose track of the number of times Gibbs has interrupted them and told them to “grab their gear” in the midst of a funny exchange.

Now, let’s turn this over to you
