The Power season 4 finale may be different than expected

Power season 4 finale

On last night’s new episode of Power season 4, we had a chance to witness some twists and turns that were certainly shocking. After all, we never imagined in a million years that we would see the stand-off with Ghost in Kanan end with Jukebox being shot by Kanan and with Tariq and Ghost surviving! The show’s already found some interesting ways to surprise, and we figure that this is something that is probably going to be continuing as the show progresses forward.

Specifically, we’ve come to expect some crazy events to unfold at the end of the finales, and it looks as though this is something you should expect once again this year. However, the way in which some of this comes about could still be a surprise, judging from how executive producer Courtney A. Kemp describes it to Entertainment Weekly:

“The show takes some very unexpected turns. There are some stories and certain deaths that we have laid in that people have been asking for and anticipating, but the way that everything happens is going to be not exactly what you expected. We really believe in fearless storytelling and so there’s going to be a lot of people with big reactions. The final two episodes are probably the best penultimate and finale we’ve done. We really ratcheted up the storytelling to a 15. At the end of The Italian Job, Seth Green’s character says he wants speakers so big they’ll blow a girl’s clothes off. It’s like that. [Laughs] It’s going to be that intense of an ending. I really like people to feel it.”

After reading a quote like that, the main question that we wonder is that: How can you not be excited about something like this? Given that the season 3 finale ended with Ghost going to jail, one of the big questions that we wonder is how you find a way to top this, or keep from repeating yourself. You can’t just go down the same road of having someone get arrested unless it’s under completely different circumstances, and this is also a show that at this point has killed off more characters than we can possibly count. Maybe there’s something relationship-based that is coming with Ghost, Angela, or Tasha, given that we absolutely don’t think that all of the doors are closed when it comes to Angela being involved in his life. Maybe she helped to free him because of her desire for justice, but we do still think she had some relief knowing that he didn’t kill Greg … even if he is guilty of quite a few other things.

Oh, and there’s also some Power drama aside from the story itself…

If you haven’t read much of that now, you can do so over at the link here! We’ll have more on the show’s ratings and other story teases coming up soon. (Photo: Starz.)
