Big Brother 19 episode 15 review: The Temptation Competition is born

Big Brother 19 episode 15

Tonight, Big Brother 19 episode 15 had a number of different things that it needed to check off the list. There was an eviction, fallout of that eviction, a new Head of Household, and of course revealing what the consequence is to Jessica taking the Halting Hex Temptation.

Oh, and we also have Josh dancing. He’s polarizing, but at least he’s doing something in there!

How the show put together the packages tonight was pretty effective, mostly because they showed most of the necessary events. For example, we had a piece about Paul losing trust in Mark, just as we also had Jessica telling Kevin about the temptation and Kevin eventually telling Jessica that Ramses may go home. He didn’t give her all the information, but he certainly gave her a little bit! As we’ve come to learn over time, this is his M.O. — he’s a guy who has more information in total than anyone in the game.

What we can tell you is that leading into the vote tonight, Jessica felt as though Ramses was going to be voted out, but she hadn’t been told for sure.

The vote

Well, this was as we expected. Everyone other than Mark, Cody, and Elena voted to send Ramses home. We feel for the kid, but that’s Big Brother. Everyone flipped in exactly the way that we expected, and the main event was one Julie made us wait for!

Julie read the vote after commercial, and this was worthwhile thanks to both Josh full-on pretending he was about to go home plus Elena’s shocked face to go along with it. Everyone kept it pretty civil while he left, and he gave a decent interview to Julie Chen after the fact. First time all season we had goodbye messages! Paul told him that it was just because he was a better player and that was pretty much it. Kevin, meanwhile, gave a pretty sweet one where he explained himself but also lamented having to make the move.

The new Head of Household

This was a simple question-and-answer competition based on photos of inked-up houseguests that we saw on the memory wall. Basically, a crapshoot. Paul ended up studying hard and winning, not that it really matters since Jessica is totally just going to use the Halting Hex to negate everything that happens.

Well, Jessica told everyone that she had the temptation in the closing minutes of the episode, so we’ll just have to see if that becomes important at all.

Enter the Temptation Competition

This is the new twist in the game thanks to the Halting Hex. This is a competition that will guarantee someone immunity for the next few weeks, but it will come with a consequence. This could be fun; it should at least be unpredictable.
