Game of Thrones season 7 episode 2 preview: Arya in … Winterfell?

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 2

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 2 is right around the corner, and judging from the just-released photos via HBO, Arya is quickly on the move!

For those of you who wanted to see Maisie Williams’ character move far away from Ed Sheeran and the rest of his merry men, this should be good news. Arya seems to be in a far colder climate now than she did close to The Twins; did she take the Tardis away from Varys and hop in there on a horse to Winterfell? (The whole notion of the distance between two places and travel time within Game of Thrones is completely lost on us.) If Arya is in the north, maybe this episode brings you the Stark family reunion we haven’t had since the very beginning of the series. After all, remember that Bran is also still out there after being isolated from almost everyone for the entirety of the show. He could be meeting up with them shortly.

Hopefully, Arya still has the ability to socialize with her family and isn’t completely consumed by her bloodlust. Killing, and having a desire to kill, does have a tendency to do something to a person. It may dramatically alter the very way in which she thinks and moves. (Hopefully, it pans out differently here than for Thea on Arrow.)

Worse-case scenario, we know that there is a family reunion coming soon.

As for this image, this one gives you a very different sort of gathering — but it’s at least a confirmed one! We’ve got a Dragonstone strategy session happening here, and Dorne is ready to hear how they can be involved in getting Daenerys back on the Iron Throne. There will be some consideration made to act quickly, and understandably so when you consider the circumstances here.

Oh, and we’re sure that every one of these people will get along swimmingly … right? Well, to be honest this may be the first time we’re genuinely interested in Dorne ever since Oberyn died, given that you’re throwing them in with some other interesting people. It’s the culture clash that has the hype going for season 7.

Finally, we now come to Littlefinger, who has having a little chat with Jon Snow — as for whether or not Jon is all that interested in listening, that is a different story altogether. The most important thing to remember within this interaction is that you’ve got two guys who are very much stubborn that their viewpoint is current, and also a manipulator alongside someone who really hasn’t spent a lot of time around someone like him.

We’re really not all that sure how Jon is going to handle having Littlefinger around. Sansa has her own unique (to put it mildly) rapport with him, but Jon is not anywhere close to being in that place as of yet. He’s probably still cranky from almost re-dying in the Battle of the Bastards and fighting with Sansa.

Just in case this is not enough for you…
