Watch the Outlander season 3 Comic-Con panel; see autograph session

Outlander season 3 Comic-Con panel

Yesterday, we posted as many different updates from the Outlander season 3 Comic-Con panel that took place down in San Diego. Now, today you can watch for yourself!

If you look below, you can see the entire panel (Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton, author Diana Gabaldon, and executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis) in its entirety — of course, by that we mean the part of it that took place before the premiere episode screening took place to the delight of every single person there. (This is basically the Comic-Con equivalent of Oprah giving everyone a car.)

Even if you’ve seen the panel before or read about it online, there are a few good reasons to watch it again.

Dancing – Hey, when you’ve got a panel moderated by World of Dance host Jenna Dewan-Tatum, it feels a little bit like a waste to not take advantage of her dance expertise in some capacity. Some of the stars CLEARLY did in one of the more entertaining moments that took place over the course of the panel.

Playful banter – We’ve always had that with Sam and Cait, but kudos to Richard for bringing a few laughs with his joke about Sophie being in his “top 5” Brianna candidates.

Diana’s explanation for not writing an episode this season – It’s amazing. Writing it out here just doesn’t do it anywhere near the justice that it rightfully deserves. It’s pretty early into the video.

Graham McTavish showing up – We’ll admit that this is something that we strongly thought could take place given that Graham was at the convention in order to promote his work on Preacher. Still, there was something glorious about seeing it happen — and with whiskey, as well!

One more thing that we’ll say — we love the video thumbnail that Starz chose. Sam literally looks like the happiest person alive, while Cait appears to be looking at him with an expression of “wow, he really looks like the happiest person alive.”

Beyond the panel

Today was a chance for the Outlander cast and producers to fully wrap up their promotional duties while at SDCC, and that included them taking part in the hysteria that is the autograph session. There are some photos below taken via Starz, and they give you a sense of the excitement — and the crowds! This may rival the traffic jam we got stuck in on the show floor last year when the Game of Thrones autograph session was happening and we wandered around at the wrong time and got caught up in it.

If you managed to meet the cast, congratulations! Hopefully, it was a great time for you.

Now, the cast and crew can go off to their other responsibilities, including everything from other film projects (Sam is working currently on The Spy Who Dumped Me alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon) to early work on Outlander season 4; after all, the writers room is already hard at work making that batch of episodes something tangible.

If you didn’t see it, we already created an article with many of the press interview highlights from Outlander at Comic-Con in one place. Check that article out over here. (Photo: Starz.)
