NCIS season 15 filming — see proof via Pauley Perrette!
In a post on Twitter, Perrette confirmed that production on the new season is underway in California, and Abby apparently has the boots to prove it. The character finds herself with little new additions here and there over the years; this is clearly the latest one. Story-wise, though, it remains to be seen what transpires with Abby; we just hope that we do end up getting a chance to see some big storylines coming up in the near future with her. (In general, we’d like to see more stories that give Jimmy and Abby some more love, given that without the lab, there’s really not all that much substance for the NCIS team to even investigate.)
There is clearly one difference that is clear already between season 15 and everything that has come before, and that is the departure of Jennifer Esposito. After one season aboard the show, Alex Quinn will no longer be a main character and it remains to be seen if producers will bring someone else into that spot. Given that Perrette and Emily Wickersham are at present the only full-time female cast members, it would be interesting if there were some opportunities to bring some other people into the fold. Personally, we’re hoping for an opportunity to get to see a little more of Margo Harshman as Delilah if you’re going to bring in someone else — we already know her, and more insight into her life with McGee is always appreciated.
Odds are, there will be some more in the way of NCIS news known within the next few weeks. This is the first full season for the new showrunners following the tragic death of Gary Glasberg, so this is in turn their first full opportunity to craft a season of their own and put their creative stamp on the show. It should prove exciting to see more of what they come up. There is a lot of pressure still to deliver, given that this is the most-watched series in the entire world and has so many viewers in so many different places all counting on it to be great.
