The Night Shift season 4 episode 5 spoilers: Drew’s and TC’s crises

Night Shift season 4 episode 5

For everyone out there who is a Brendan Fehr fan, odds are that you are going to enjoy The Night Shift season 4 episode 5. This looks to be one of his meatiest episodes of the season, as he is forced to take on what is a doctor’s worst nightmare: Having to help people aboard an airplane in the midst of a crisis. There are limited resources, a wide array of people in need, and only so much time to treat them. He’s also unfortunately not going to have a whole lot of help, either.

This episode should give you a great Fehr performance, and to balance out some of the drama there, a little bit of lightness courtesy of Scott’s dating life and also a fundraiser that is going to give you a little bit of NBC cross-promotion. We don’t always love this sort of thing, but who’s going to balk at the idea of getting an American Ninja Warrior personality on the show. (We’d actually love to see if anyone in the cast could compete on the actual course.)

If you look below, you can see right away a little more news in the way of what is coming up.

The Night Shift season 4 episode 5 synopsis – “Drew (Brendan Fehr), his mom (guest star Becky Ann Baker), and Rick’s (guest star Luke MacFarlane) flight home turns into a medical crisis at 35,000 feet when passengers become sickened one by one. Jordan (Jill Flint), Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.), Shannon (Tanaya Beatty), Kenny (JR Lemon), and Cain (Mark Consuelos) spend their day off at an obstacle course fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis, hosted by Akbar Gbajabjamila (“American Ninja Warrior”). Scott (Scott Wolf) finds himself on a Tinder date he won’t soon forget. Meanwhile, TC (Eoin Macken) puts his own life in danger to operate on a soldier.”

Given that this season of the show has brought us so much unfortunate death already when it comes to important characters, here’s to hoping that in this case, everyone else is able to emerge from the story in one piece.

The promo below

We learned tonight a little more about why Drew’s mother had turned up on the scene (thank a patient for that), but we’re sure that she never imagined that her trip would be anywhere near this scary.

This video is more about TC’s struggle than anything going on with Drew, and that makes sense given that it’s scary. While overseas, he is forced to operate on someone with a live explosive on them. One wrong move, and this person dies — and so does everyone else in the general vicinity.
