Westworld: Katja Herbers joins season 2 in series regular role

Katja Herbers has booked a series regular role on the upcoming Season 2 of the HBO sci-fi western hit, Westworld.

According to Deadline, the Manhattan alum is set to play Grace, a seasoned guest whose arrival comes at the park’s darkest hour. Herbers’s casting and addition makes her the third new series regular for Season 2 along with Talulah Riley and Louis Herthum who were promoted to series regulars after their successful recurring roles in Season 1.

While there isn’t much information on Herbers’s role, it will definitely be interesting to see how her character will interact with the hosts and high ranking officials. Will she be a love interest or someone who brings unwanted conflict? It’s all a possibility. Given that it says she arrives at a inopportune time, the latter of the two is probably more along the lines of being correct. No matter what it will definitely be exciting to see what her character will bring to the table.

Herbers was a series regular on the WGN America’s Manhattan for two season and mostly recent completed an arc on the final season on HBO’s The Leftovers. She was also starred on FX’s The Americans. Before seeing her on Westworld, Herbers can be seen on the upcoming Discovery Channel limited series, Manhunt:Unbomber.

The show is created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie, Westworld. The series is a dark odyssey about the dawn artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. The story takes place in the fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced Wild West themed amusement park populated by android hosts. The park caters to high-paying guests, who may indulge in whatever they wish within the park, without fear of retaliation from the hosts.

In addition to Herbers, Riley, and Herthum Season 2 will also star Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth, and Chifton Collins Jr.

Westworld is produced by Kitler Films and Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros TV. Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, J.J. Abrams, Athena Wickham, Roberto Patino, Richard Lewis executive produce, and Eugene Kelly, Ron Fitzgerald, Frederick E.O. Toye are co-executive producers.
