Real Housewives of Atlanta: Could Kenya Moore actually leave?

Real Housewives of Atlanta

Is The Real Housewives of Atlanta starting to get out of the business of bringing on board women with private romantic lives? There are certainly questions now when it comes to Kenya Moore’s future following her relationship and marriage to Marc Daly.

According to TMZ, there may be a pickle that Kenya is facing in that producers want very badly to feature her relationship on the Bravo series, but that Daly has never had that interest. Kenya kept his identity a secret until after the two were married, but even with that it does still seem as though the two are interested mostly in keeping a very private life.

Now, if the report is true, here is where things could prove troublesome: If Kenya doesn’t want to show her personal life, then it’s possible that she could be slowly “phased out” of the show as a regular cast member. This puts her in a really tough position. Obviously, she loves her marriage and is happier in her personal life than she’s ever been. However, the pickle comes here in that her interests may not align with what Bravo wants for their own show, and that’s problematic. Kenya’s argument seems to be that her husband did not sign up for the show, and with that, he really shouldn’t be obligated to appear on it. It’s her thing, and there have been occasions in the past where spouses have been kept off-camera.

Ultimately, let’s hope that there is a way for everyone to get everything that they want out of this situation — it may not be easy (and it’ll certainly be stressful), but we don’t want to see someone have to leave the show because they married someone and want some element of a private life to go along with the job that they already have.

Here is what we do know

Kenya, one way or another, is going to be a part of the upcoming season of the show. Production is already underway on the next batch of episodes, and they are going to be premiering more than likely at some point at the end of the fall. Both NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak are going to be returning to the show after some time away. (Ironically, it was Kim whose relationship with the super-mysterious “Big Poppa” was shielded from the show in the past.)

The one confirmed exit seemingly from the new season is Phaedra Parks after her role in the Kandi Burruss gossip scandal. It’s possible that she appears in the early going to properly apologize so that everyone can move on, but that’s all we expect from her.

What do you think about this report, and do you think Kenya should have to show more of her personal life on the show if she doesn’t want to? Share below.
