Turn out the lights … the “Jersey Shore” party is over. After weeks of filming in Seaside Heights, the cast for the hit MTV show seems to be done with shooting for the time being in their famous Ocean Terrace house. Could it be for the last time? The general assumption many people in the press are making is that the original cast is done, but with money involved (and question marks surrounding what the ratings will be), you can never really say never.
Beginning on Friday, some people including Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Jenni “JWoww” Farley were all seen packing their bags. It’s been no secret that the cast was set to wrap up filming this week — they held a bonfire a few days ago as a way to say goodbye, and they have also spent part of the week celebrating the birthdays of both The Situation and Pauly D.
The main reason for the rumors that the cast is done now revolve around the place that many of them are in their lives. Deena Cortese, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Ronnie Magro, Snooki, and Sammi Giancola are all officially in committed relationships, and rumors during filming suggested that The Situation had finally made it official, as well, with his on-again, off-again flame Paula. Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino are the only two guys without any sort of girlfriend, and the dating portion of the show has quieted down. Meanwhile, Snooki getting ready to have her first child, The Situation is working on his recovery from a trip to rehab, and Pauly D’s DJ career is now big enough that he really doesn’t even need the show as a platform much anymore. Just as we have to wait and see what the premiere date is going to be for season 6, we’ll have to wait and see what MTV wants to do with a season 7.
