When will Chicago Fire season 6 start filming for NBC?

Chicago Fire start filming

While there may not be too much in the way of concrete Chicago Fire season 6 news right now, we can at least give you this: News on when the show will start filming.

In a new post on Twitter (see below), executive producer Derek Haas confirmed that filming will start in the middle of July, which is around when filming always tends to start for the show. Beyond that, the five minutes of the premiere will be when much of the craziness happens … which does make a whole lot of sense given that we know that we’re running the risk of seeing a major character die. The likes of Mouch, Severide, Casey, and more are in danger, though Mouch is easily the character we’re the most worried about based on where the show left off.

Beyond all of this, one of the other things that Haas stated earlier was that you won’t be seeing Benny Severide in the near future, but there are always chances to see him again. The last time that the character did surface, it was as a part of an emotional storyline that led to Anna revealing that her cancer was back. This was the beginning of the end for the Severanna relationship, and we assume that Kelly will still be in some degree of mourning by the time that the show comes back to the air. After all, there’s not much of a time jump coming, at least in the early going for the show.

New episodes of Chicago Fire will be premiering on NBC this September, but one of the things that you do need to remember here is that it is coming aboard at a new time in Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. Hopefully, it carries over much of its audience after losing that big lead-in courtesy of This Is Us. We’ll have to wait a while to learn about that.
