Bachelor in Paradise wedding: Carly Waddell, Evan Bass married; who attended?

Paradise wedding

Mrs. Carter: For those wondering, the Bachelor in Paradise wedding for Carly Waddell and Evan Bass has officially happened and it sounds like it was a grand affair!

According to People Magazine, the Bachelor in Paradise season 3 stars (who got engaged on the finale for last season) officially married on Saturday while at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Show host Chris Harrison was the officiant for the ceremony (as would be expected), a role that he’s done many times in the past, and the guest list included another married couple from the show in Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert.

The two had an opportunity to have a romantic ceremony, and while the precise plans for the footage of the wedding are not clear at the moment, you do have to imagine that it will be featured in some way moving forward. Originally, the plan was for the wedding to be featured during an upcoming Bachelor in Paradise episode, but in the way of an investigation into an incident on the show (there’s already plenty of news out there about it and this is meant to be a happier piece), it’s possible that there may not be another season.

At least these two had a chance to have a beautiful ceremony that celebrated their journey as a couple, and one of the stranger, more entertaining relationships that has been born out of the show since its premiere. Carly and Evan were not at first a match made in heaven, given that she was very resistant to the idea for the first handful of episodes. However, her feelings began to change over time, and the producers for whatever reason were very keen on giving them some of the more atypical dates in the history of the show. What this does suggest to us more than anything else is that the show, regardless of what form it ends up taking in the future, should try and opt against just giving their contestants the same typical dates that they are accustomed to. There is very much something to The Bachelor / Bachelorette embracing the weird, and giving people dates that build memories just as much as they do any element of romance.

One way or another, we do hope that some other people within the franchise look at Evan and Carly as proof that this sort of relationship can work and produce a happily ever after ending.
