Shadowhunters season 2 episode 13 spoilers: When vengeance begins
In the sneak peek below via Freeform, Jace, Alec, and Clary have to react to some most-unfortunate news: Dead Shadowhunters. While these are redshirts as far as character importance goes, it does represent something far more dangerous and sinister: The thought of a Downworlder uprising. Luke has made it clear that this is something to fear, and these characters are now in a position where they are forced to face that further.
What will happen as a result of this showdown? Well, it’s possible that there could be a further trailer of bodies, and that is something that the likes of Clary will have to deal with. These is so much mounting tension that finding a way to stop things before they get worse is not going to be an easy task.
Could there be a savior in the midst? It’s hard to say, even if there are some links between the two worlds such as the relationship between Magnus and Alec and the paternal relationship that Luke has with Clary. There are far too many people who want bloodshed over peace, and quiet a vocal majority or even a vocal minority is something that won’t prove easy.
Oh, and there are many other issues at the heart of this episode, as well. Take, for example, the reveal of Jace’s bloodline on this past episode, or Sebastian starting to show more of what he’s capable of. He may be looking benevolent in some plays (plus romantically interested in Clary), but most book readers know by now that this is a man capable of far more carnage than anyone is getting an opportunity to see at the moment. The best thing that you can do is just keep your eyes peeled and be aware; these characters have been through enough that they should know by now that trusting people is never something we would advice to a great extent.
