The Originals season 5 spoilers: Who could get a new love interest?

It may be hard to think about an Originals season 5 love interest given where we are in the story of season 4 at present, but it’s still happening! What may shock you more than anything is learning who this love interest could be for.

In the event you have not heard, there is talk about a massive time jump leading into the fifth season, one that would age up Hope all the way to her being a teenager. Per a report from Entertainment Weekly, the CW show is actually casting a new love interest for her in Roman, a fairly recently-turned vampire named Roman who has a ton of charisma and charm.

So what could a teenage Hope have in common with him? Much of that has to do with where they come from, which includes a really dysfunctional family dynamic. They’ve both probably been through a lot in their lives, and it may be easy to bond on that.

When it comes to the idea of aging up Hope, that is something that is still worth being torn over. After all, hasn’t Summer Fontana been great as the younger version of the character? Her relationship with Klaus is all sorts of sweet and endearing, and it’s given the show a wonderful new layer. Maybe it will still be there if you age the character up, but it’s not a given since you’re banking on finding the right person. Also, teenagers tend to be much more rebellious, so it’s hard to envision the relationship being the same that it was.

Now that we’ve laid all of this out there on the table, there is another important question: Whether or not Hope will be with her family in New Orleans in the first place. After all that she’s been through with The Hollow this season, there are many scenarios in which we can imagine Hayley and Klaus wanting to move her somewhere that she’d be a little more safe rather than constantly under the threat of death.
