The Bachelorette spoilers: Josiah hopes to win Rachel Lindsay’s spelling bee
For those of you who are lamenting the lack of a new episode of The Bachelorette last night, hopefully this piece, and the accompanying sneak peek, will make up for it.
In this preview, you see Rachel Lindsay help to lead some of her men on a group date that is effectively all about one thing: A spelling bee. She said that she likes her man to be intellectual, so what better way to do that than by forcing them into a competition reserved by and large for children? We’re joking to a certain extent, but there probably will be something fun about it because it reduces these super-macho guys to kids and forces them to compete for the affection of someone. There is something incredibly fun about seeing these guys have to sport these dorky little cards with their names on them.
At the end of this date, someone will certainly get a rose and an opportunity to spend a little bit more time with Rachel. Whoever that is remains a mystery for now, but there are certainly people we root for. Take, for example, Josiah given that he’s such a big character on this show and has an interesting, specific backstory. Even though we are a few episodes into this season at the moment, we are more or less still at the point where there are a rather large field of guys that are relatively indistinguishable from one another. Hopefully, this is something that does change as we get further along into the season.
Will this date be what separates the contenders from the pretenders? Probably not, given that it’s so lighthearted and not really the sort of thing that should get anyone’s blood boiling in any serious way. At most, it should allow for further opportunities for some viewers to have some fun and for the contestants to make fun of themselves. Maybe after the spelling be there will be a little bit of drama, but that’s it for the time being.
