The Fosters season 5 spoilers: Pretty Little Liars actress checks in

Pretty Little Liars actress

While Pretty Little Liars ends, it looks like some familiar faces from the Rosewood universe are flocking elsewhere — including The Fosters!

In a new post on Twitter, Nia Peeples (who plays Emily’s mother Pam Fields on the Freeform hit) confirms that she will be appearing on the fifth season of The Fosters in the role of Susan. Alas, that’s all that is known about the part at the moment. Maybe she’s the mother of another character on this show, or maybe she’s a woman who finds a way to help Callie. Another possibility is that she’s a new co-worker of Stef’s on the police force. There are plenty of different potential roles for her on the show, and that only adds to some of the fun that comes with trying to figure out precisely who she is. Obviously, it’ll be revealed in due time!

Peeples (whose credits also include The Young and the Restless and Walker, Texas Ranger will appear in the first half of the season based on when she is filming. This season will begin airing this July, which is sadly a little bit later than the rest of the Freeform summer lineup save for new series The Bold Type. The good news? Well, you’re getting an opportunity to see it last later in the summer than some of the other shows. Shadowhunters, for example, will be halfway through its summer season at the time in which it comes on the air.

Based on some of the promos that are already out thereThe Fosters season 5 will pick up not too far after the events of the fourth season, with Callie still in a desperate position and in need of some help. Stef will be searching for her, while there are increasingly-hostile protests going on outside Anchor Beach over the apparent privatization of the school. In what is true show fashion, there are a dozen or so different things going on at the same time and the writers will use their deft touch in order to figure all of that out.
