Nashville season 5 episode 13: Questions for Scarlett, Daphne, more

Daphne

With Nashville season 5 episode 13 airing tonight on CMT, doesn’t now feel like the perfect time to start posing some questions? The summer premiere was as good as expected in terms of resolving some of the cliffhangers and getting the characters in a little bit of a better place to push forward.

For Scarlett, she faced the truth this past week that it was Damien, not Gunnar, who was the father of her child. As a result of that, Gunnar was filled with doubt, which he later relayed to Avery while still professing that he very much did want to be a part of the child’s life. Is this what Scarlett wants? The video below strongly indicates that she may still have some other plans, and this is all going to get a whole lot messier before the child is born.

As for some other questions…

Juliette – Is she going to figure out the next move in her career? She just released her gospel record, and while she may have been serious about it becoming something, she’s received nothing but bad reviews for it. This strongly influenced Maddie’s own desire to listen to her, even when her information was right. There is a lot of interesting story to explore here of Juliette as a singer at a precarious part of her career, where the sheen is starting to come off a bit and she’s left to question how the music community is interested in perceiving her as the story moves forward. She should have to deal with a different perception than she did before, where there are so many people in the business looking towards the “new stars” — one that could ironically end up being Maddie.

Daphne – She’s not going to get over her depression anytime soon, and this is mostly going to be a story about how far she falls, and also how Deacon handles it and if there are limitations that he needs to set. She is absolutely going to challenge some of this when she decides to bring home Liz, her new friend who she met when she took off from school.

Tonight, these questions will be answered. Watch the video to get a quick refresher, and be sure to head over here for some further news! There will be a full review for tonight’s episode online after it airs. (Photo: CMT.)
