The Amazing Race 29 finale: Who will (and should) win?

Amazing Race 29 finale

The Amazing Race 29 finale is coming onto CBS on Thursday night, and by and large, there is a cause for joy entering the episode. Isn’t this a stronger season than everyone hoped for going in? The casting twist proved worthwhile given that there are a ton of great personalities, and potentially one trainwreck team in Brooke & Scott that may be among the all-time greats in that department.

Also, this is a season where the obvious ringer team in Matt & Redmond were eliminated from the show last week. No disrespect to #TheBoys (they were more entertaining than expected at times this season), but them winning would’ve made for a dull end to the season. Now, there are three teams left that all have something they bring to the table.

London & Logan – They seem like lovely, functional normal people, which is probably why they are the most mundane of the final teams. Typically, this is the sort of team that wins, which is probably why we’re going to go ahead and save that they will be the winners of season 29.

Tara & Joey – The most surprising team this season in terms of consistency (yeah, they did finish last once) and also using their life skills on the race. They argued plenty, but they’ve soldiered on and showed to not judge a book by its cover — or a guy by finishing last in the first challenge at the start of the season.

Brooke & Scott – Gold. They’re so messy and so much of the time it feels like they are about to completely cave in and turn instantaneously into dust. Yet, they’re still here, and them somehow winning would be almost the most hilarious ending to a season in Race history.

No matter what, this is at least an entertaining final three where there is no obvious team head and shoulders above the other two, and all of them would be worthy winners in some way. It’s a satisfying season with likely a satisfying ending on the way. Also, there’s already a season 30 so you don’t have to worry about sitting down and writing out a eulogy to the franchise before the finale.
