Memorial Day Weekend marathons: NCIS, SVU, Animal Kingdom, more

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend is not exactly known as a big time for TV. The majority of shows are on hiatus, and the summer shows haven’t started.

With that, it’s a pretty great time of the year in the event that you just want to sit down and enjoy some marathons for some of your favorite shows while you’re marinating some steak to throw out on the barbecue. Below, we’ve got a few assorted highlights for Saturday, but rest assured that more are coming both Sunday and Monday and there will be some further scheduling highlights to share from those days coming up.

Law & Order: SVU – A Marathon for the Mariska Hargitay series is happening over on ION from the time of this publication until 1:00 a.m. Eastern time. (For those of you who are super night owls, there is a marathon of one of our favorite shows in Psych starting at around that time.)

NCIS – Meanwhile, the Mark Harmon show has some continuous episodes playing over on USA from now until 1:00 a.m. Eastern.

Star Trek: Voyager – Just in case you want to spend your Memorial Day Saturday far away from Earth with Captain Janeway, BBC America is running episodes from now until 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

River Monsters – Over on Animal Planet, you can see this unscripted hit from now until 9:00 p.m., which is when River Monsters: Unhooked starts up.

Cops – If you really love seeing “bad boys” getting arrested, Spike is running the longtime TV staple until around 10:00 p.m. tonight.

Animal Kingdom – From noon Eastern until 5:00 p.m., you can catch the second half of the TNT drama’s first season. Consider this a proper way to prepare for the show coming back with new episodes.

If you love movies, the best suggestion that we can offer is over on AMC, who is running this afternoon Avatar followed by two showing of Jurassic Park. Basically, if you love big, visual spectacles, this is probably going to be the place for you.
