Riverdale season 2 officially underway; see first script!

Riverdale season 2

While Riverdale season 2 may not be airing until the fall, that’s not stopping you from getting some of the first news about it now!

The script page below does officially reveal to you that “A Kiss Before Dying” is the title for the upcoming premiere episode, which is being written by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The title is a reference to a classic film noir from the 1950’s, and with a name that romantic and that dangerous, there is probably a good reason to fear for everyone remaining among the main cast as the second season begins.

At present, the people to watch starts with Jughead, mostly because he continues to find himself in a dark place and caught up with the wrong people. The one reason to hope for him is because this is a show that really is best when all of its characters are attending the same school. Therefore, there is reason to hope that he ends up back at Riverdale by the time the story goes too far into the season.

Beyond that, also look at the story for someone like Cheryl Blossom given that the most-recent of the show ended with her BURNING DOWN HER HOUSE. Things don’t get crazier than that, hence the all-caps format. Archie and Veronica definitely have more story to tell, and it should prove curious to see how Betty fits into the overall picture.

One piece of advice to everyone within the Riverdale world moving into the second season: We don’t want to see this show get progressively crazier and crazier just because you can or because there is some expectation to do that. We want to see them go with the story that feels right and organic to the people who already a part of the world. If the show does too much to steer into the direction of “let’s try to shock everyone,” there’s a reasonably good chance that they will end up disappointing us because there won’t be any substance in the show anymore. The characters, and the performances are what people stick around to see.

Riverdale season 2 will premiere most likely in October; there will be further news posted throughout the hiatus, so be sure to check back often to this link to secure some additional news on the subject. (Photo: The CW.)
