Is Chicago PD new tonight? Lindsay’s future status and more

PD new tonight

There are a few things work discussing in this piece, but let’s get the following question out of the way: Is Chicago PD new tonight?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is a simple no, mostly for the simple reason that the season ended last week with the super-dramatic, Lindsay-centric cliffhanger where she was left to question her future after taking a deal with the FBI, unaware of how complicit Bunny was in her crimes. (There are two episodes of Law & Order: SVU on tonight, hence why the show isn’t even on the schedule.)

So how will Chicago PD tackle the Lindsay over the start of season 5? There are a few different ideas the show could choose to throw out there.

Lindsay is MIA for the start of the season – Given that Sophia Bush is your biggest star, it’s hard to envision a situation where this happens. Nonetheless, the show could do something similar to what they did with Ruzek, and have her resurface when the bureau comes to town for whatever reason.

You see Lindsay at the FBI – If may be a bit disjointed, but you could do something similar to The Office season 3 where you show Lindsay at her new digs, while also showing the story for everyone else. Maybe this lasts for a few episodes before the story starts to navigate over to getting a chance to see more of her back with the team at Intelligence. One way or another, she’s going to come back … right?

Voight stops the move from ever happening – As heartbreaking as it may be, maybe Hank shares with her what he knows in order to ensure that she doesn’t uproot herself from this world forever. This keeps her in his orbit, and she simply stays with the team in the midst of her heartbreak.

Maybe there are some more individual theories out there, but these seem to be the three overarching ones in terms of where the story could feasibly go.

For now, what do you think that Lindsay could do moving into Chicago PD season 5? Share some of your thoughts and theories below!
