Amazing NCIS series stunt doubles: Unsung heroes offer action packed moments

The NCIS series has some amazing action sequences in every episode. Whether you are watching NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans or NCIS, viewers are on the edge of their seats. It is the stunt doubles who complete the car chases, insane rescues and over-the-top explosions offer a visual moment to remember. While the main characters are part of the process, in the big moments the NCIS  team of stunt doubles make the action. Fans have really come to appreciate the visual attributes the show offers every week!

There are over half dozen folks who make the action on the CBS television series possible. Unwavering in their jobs, they will jump out of burning buildings, drive cars on two wheels and even fall down flights of stairs for the audience. The NCIS stunt doubles are amazing people. Yet, they don’t show their faces. In fact, if you blink you might not know these folks are on your screen. Many actors want to do their own stunts, but sometimes that is simply not possible.

Per the norm, it’s their job to create the illusion that the character is facing a dangerous situation. Many stunt people dress up in the same clothes as the character. Most turn their faces away from the cameras so only their hair is seen. It’s an art to look like a character, create an intense situation, and make the viewer believe it’s a viable moment. These guys and gals are trained to do all the things that actors shouldn’t do. Why? Because it’s so dangerous. Whew, talk about what an insane day at work the NCIS stunt doubles have! Also, think about the training that is involved!

The magic of television, especially shows like the NCIS series, have some seriously talented people behind the scenes. The writers sculpt the characters into likable people. Then the tense action is taken care of by professional stunt people. It’s a big reminder that NCIS is a big family. Working together, their time, effort and talent makes a program that people love. If that isn’t amazing enough, they produce an episode in an incredibly short period of time!
