Call the Midwife season 6 finale (PBS): Barbara’s wedding; Patsy’s return

The Call the Midwife season 6 finale aired on PBS Sunday night, and there are a couple of different moments that will stick with you. It was by far the most important episode of the season just in terms of how lives were changed from start to finish.

Now that all of this is said, there are some SPOILERS ahead. Move forward at your own risk!

A wedding – This is one that gives you more of a reason to celebrate than potentially any other, and that is the wedding between Barbara and Tom. They’re finally together! This moment was the culmination of everything great that came before it, and it was definitely moving. They put the wedding together quickly when some of the news about her father’s future started to come in.

If there is one thing that we’d call good news about these two, however, it is that they’ve already shown themselves to be rather devoted to each other. They should be able to get through everything that comes in their way.

A new arrival – Shelagh finally welcomed her child! There were some chaotic moments throughout the finale, but also some joyous ones as there was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on her journey and how long she wanted to be here. Now, she can celebrate finally getting to this moment. The mystery from here merely seems to be trying to figure out the right way in which to carry on.

The return of Patsy – This was the moment that many fans long awaited after the extended / frustrating absence of the character, which was brought on by the death of her father in Hong Kong. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Patsy and Delia had the first onscreen kiss that they’ve had ever since the two of them debuted as a couple on the show. This moment was important for bringing their relationship more into the mainstream and not separating it from the others in any way.
