The Flash season 3 finale photo: Tom Felton will be back

Tom Felton

Where in the world was Tom Felton on this past episode of The Flash? There’s little doubt that the Julian Albert character is interesting. Yet, he’s also been somewhat restricted on the show.

If we were to guess for a reasonably explanation as to the character’s somewhat-frequent absence on the show, it is most likely due to the fact that Felton is only contracted for so many episodes this season. This makes sense, given that Julian is a new character and it probably was not clear in advance how popular he would be with the fans.

At this point, it does feel as though the character is fairly well-received, and with that, there’s probably going to be more of him coming over the course of next season provided he survives. For now, just be happy that there is some confirmation out there that Felton will be a part of the finale on Tuesday entitled “Finish Line.”

His role in the episode is a little difficult to plot out, given that there are some scenarios in which you can envision him dying. Given that he wasn’t around before Savitar was created, could he go in the event that the villain does? Did Julian swap faces with Iris West using H.R.’s technology, and all of this time Iris as Julian was secretly in hiding? Is he already dead? It’s an interesting question. To us so much of the intrigue around this character revolves around knowing what he was doing in a pre-Flashpoint universe, and what the role for him could be in the event that the show somehow restores the original timeline. That is, after all, another theory that is out there. There is still a big issue that the show needs to conquer if the current timeline is going to be permanent, and that is the one of Killer Frost. Is Danielle Panabaker really done playing Caitlin Snow? It’s hard to imagine her permanently staying the villain, but given that the production team spent all of that time on the costume, it’s possible.

All we know is that in an ideal world, Julian still has a place in The Flash season 4, and for good reason given that he’s funny, passionate, and has a different attitude than anyone else at STAR Labs. There’s a big reason to root for him to be around.
