When will NCIS season 15 start filming on CBS?
Based on when season 14 started filming this past summer, there is probably one time in particular that you can circle on your calendar: The middle of July. This gives the cast a nice little break of almost two months from now, and then they all descend back on the greater Los Angeles area in order to continue work once more. Filming for this show is a labor of love, but it is also at the same time plenty of intensive labor in its own right. It goes until the spring, and there are a lot of super-lengthy days jammed in there.
If there is something to be happy about at the moment, it is that the NCIS crew seems to be very much a family and they enjoy working together. Also, it seems as though everyone from season 14 could be coming back. Given that the writers aren’t knee-deep in story just yet it may be a little too early to know this for sure, it doesn’t seem as though either Mark Harmon or Sean Murray are going to be permanently stranded as a result of the events of the recent finale. Somehow, Gibbs and McGee are going to find their way back into the world.
If you are one to start asking some serious questions about the future of the show, maybe in the spring of next year is the right time to do it. After all, 15 years is such a nice, round number that it would make a certain degree of sense to close up show at this point if the producers were to do so. However, it’s also clear that there are SO many more stories to tell. There will probably be some heated discussions at that time, but there’s certainly a financial reason to continue the show given its immense popularity both in terms of live viewing, international sales, and also syndication. Few other dramas ever have the global outreach this show does, where Harmon and other cast members could go anywhere in the world and be recognized almost immediately as their character.
