Riverdale season 2 spoilers: Is there Archie – Jughead conflict coming?

Riverdale season 2 spoilersIf you’re looking for some of the first Riverdale season 2 spoilers, you’re in the right place! That’s especially true if you love Jughead.

The sad thing about where season 1 ended for the CW show is that it was pretty darn clear that Cole Sprouse’s character was not in a great place. He found himself separate from many other characters that he knows and loves, and he was considering setting down a dark road, one that eventually led to some of his father’s present circumstances. He will see this path ahead of him, but then also a different path in the past where there were some happier times — even if everything went to hell in a handbasket with the Blossom family and everything that unfolded with them.

Season 2 for the character seems to be a season of decisions, and it could eventually lead to escalating conflict between the two friends. In speaking further on the subject to TV Guide, Sprouse passed along the following message:

“Jughead is going to be placed in the center of two worlds; he’s got his foot on the North Side and his foot on the South Side, and that places him in a kind of dilemma. [With] Archie and Jughead, we’re going to be discussing social circumstances that force a person to do bad [things]. … That’s really going to be Jughead’s dilemma this next season.”

Let’s hope that over the course of this season, the conflict between the two parties offers up some chances to explore some further interesting character dynamics. You want to have some further conflict and engagement for many different reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that it adds that much more excitement and buzz to everything that you’re doing!

New episodes of Riverdale are coming on the air a little bit earlier than they did in the spring. They will be back come this fall, and in a new timeslot Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The show is forging a new timeslot with Dynasty, and it should prove interesting to see how these two shows fare airing as a block. They have a good bit in common in terms of substance, so that is a nice jumping-off point for any other synergy they could have.
