Big Brother Canada 5: Ika Wong evicted in fourth place

Ika Wong

Tomorrow night, the Big Brother Canada 5 finale is airing on Global. What that means is that today, we wave farewell to Ika Wong.

The show did a good job on Wednesday of showing that Ika put up some semblance of a fight in the Veto Competition. She even challenged Kevin on her way out the door that he may be scared to go against her. That’s probably true to a certain extent, and it’s smart. Ika would probably beat anyone this season with the way that she dominated almost the entire season! She did a heck of a job playing the game, and unfortunately, her undoing was just the wrong person winning a competition at the wrong time. Sometimes this happens in the game, but she did a great job avoid being sent home after she and Demetres were both put on the block on two separate occasions.

Ika and Demetres are the second-most-successful romantic relationship in the history of Big Brother Canada. Remember that Emmett and Jillian made it to the final three of the first season. (Neda and Jon weren’t romantic during season 2 of the show, so that doesn’t quite count.)

With Ika’s exit, this gives us a somewhat-interesting final three showdown given that Karen, Kevin, and Demetres will square off to win the season … and it’s really just Kevin versus Demetres. Whoever wins the final Head of household almost certainly wins the season, since it’s difficult to envision many scenarios in which anything else transpires. If Karen were to win for whatever reason, it’s hard to foresee a situation where she takes Kevin to the end of the game. Ironically, that’s the one showdown she may have a snowball’s chance in. There’s pretty much no chance that Kevin and Demetres take each other. No matter who wins, hats off to the producers for a fun season, and a winner who will be a worthy one for the season as a whole. This season definitely didn’t go as many people probably though, but that turned out to be a good thing! The house presented more surprises, and there were many instances of the show letting the players play (save for maybe that triple eviction) in comparison to the past couple of seasons.
